With 34 years as a Bhutanese adventure guide (since 1991), Phurba Dorji (Sha) is one of Bhutan's most respected and experienced tour leaders. He spent 12 years leading National Geographic Photographic Tours, 7 years with the Smithsonian Institute and Harvard Museum, and 5 years as private guide to world-renowned photographer and explorer Chris Rainier. He has guided high-profile clients including actress Uma Thurman and her father Robert Thurman (first Western Buddhist monk) and the family of Dell's founder.
Sha Adventure organizes and personally guides only 3–4 family and private tours per season — far more intimate and flexible than ordinary package tours.
